Partition Editing

GNU parted works well for editing DOS and Linux partitions. You can download the source from http://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/parted/. To compile and install this program, you need the e2fsprogs_devel RPM (available from RPM Find) and the progsreiserfs library (for Reiser file system support), available from http://reiserfs.osdn.org.ua. Install the RPM first, then the Reiser support library and then parted itself.

This program allows you to extend and manipulate file systems particularly the Reiser file system (which is used by SuSE). If you do extend a file system, be sure to run fsck on it to repair any errors. In the case of the Reiser file system, you may have to run fsck.reiserfs directly on the new partition.
